“Seven Steps to Perfection”
When Quality Counts, Count on Cowee
Our “Seven Steps to Perfection”
An unparalleled commitment by each and every employee at W. J. Cowee produces the finest possible products.
Customers often ask how our company can maintain our unparalleled level of quality and consistency. Our secret is simple – all W. J. Cowee products are subjected to seven different quality control checkpoints before they ship out of our US production facility to our customers.

Step 1
First, our expert timber buyers scrutinize tens of thousands of North American hardwood logs, but hand select only a small portion that meets the precise buying standards suitable for making our products. |
| Step 2 Then, we debark the logs and inspect them, so that latent flaws previously undetected can be culled from the production line. |

Step 3 The logs are then cut into production log sizes, and experienced timber specialists inspect individual cuts for sweeps, twists, cross grains and knots -defects that could compromise the integrity of our finished product. |
Step 4 The log cuts are then steam bathed for pliability before being sent to the veneer cutting room. There, they are lathed into precise veneer strips and subjected to yet another quality control checkpoint so that irregular strips falling outside our precise standards can be pulled from production. |

Step 5 The veneer strips are then cut using high precision machines to fashion the picks and stakes. After cutting, quality control checkpoints measure the products for consistency and tensile strength. |
Step 6 The picks and stakes are then sent to several large dry kiln rooms, where they are heated to precise atmospheric conditions. This ensures that the dried wood products will provide optimum strength and durability when used by floral designers. After they are dried in the kilns, the picks and stakes are inspected a sixth time for quality and consistency. |

Step 7 When the picks and stakes are finally packed, each and every product is subjected to one final mechanical inspection to ensure they conform to our exacting standards. At W. J. Cowee, we believe in taking extra steps – seven steps, to be precise – to make superior products so floral designers the world over can have complete confidence in our products. |
